Salvatore Marra


Salvatore MarraSalvatore Marra (1981) has been a youth and civil rights activist in Italy and internationally. After graduating at La Sapienza University in Rome, he has been international coordinator for the Federazione CEMAT (= the Institution for promoting Italian contemporary music abroad) and collaborated with cultural institutions in Italy and abroad.

In 2002, he was elected member of the executive committee of the Confederazione Generale Italiana del Lavoro CGIL (the General Italian Labour Confederation) for the region of Rome and Lazo, and advisor on LGBTIQ issues. He ran the Ufficio Nuovi Diritti (= Office for New Rights) in Rome dealing with LGBTIQ issues at the workplace, HIV+ workers' rights etc.
In 2010 he was elected member of the GCIL national executive committee, and in 2011 he was elected in the Youth Bureau of the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC).

At the Antwerp conference, Salvatore Marra participated in the Panel on Trade Unions.
