Philip Heylen


Philip HeylenPhilip Heylen (Belgium, 1968) studied law in Antwerp and got his Masters title. He is a member of the CD&V party, Christen-Democratisch en Vlaams (= Christian democratic and Flemish).
In 1995, he became advisor of the Antwerp alderman for communication, decentralisation and government organisation.
In the 1998 - 2000 years he was advisor for the national presidents of the Christian's People Party (predecessor of the CD&V). After that, he worked for the party's delegation in parliament (until 2004), and started a local career in Antwerp as member of the City Council (2001).
In 2004 he became Antwerp's alderman for culture, libraries and monuments, a position he still holds. Economy and Religion and Convictions are now also part of his working area.

From the very first moment, Philip Heylen has been involved in lobbying for the Antwerp OutGames and the promotion of the event. At the conference, he participated in one of the couch sessions.
