Mellouki Cadat


Mellouki  CadatBrieuc-Yves Cadat MA (1958, nickname Mellouki) studied law and political science in France (Montpellier and Paris) and political science (c.I.) at the University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands. He is board member of the International Network Against CyberHate INACH and chair of the Magenta Foundation ("publishing for the arts").
He has been involved in international networks and activities such as the French SOS Racism, Hands Off My Buddy (1982 - 1986, founding member), Netherlands Show the Colour (vice-chair, 1990 - 1995), the World Conference Against Racism (2001), and the European Network Against Racism (ENAR) (chair Dutch board, 2001 - 2004).

Mellouki Cadat is a senior sexual diversity officer at Movisie, the Netherlands centre for social development.
Movisie's mission is to promote the participation and independence of citizens. The organisation is also on the board of the International Council on Social Welfare (ICSW).
Five themes are central to Movicie's work: social cohesion, volunteer effort, domestic and sexual violence, vulnerable groups, and informal care.

Mellouki Cadat's activities focus on social-cultural work in multi-cultural neigbourhoods in conjunction with LGBT issues.
At the Antwerp conference, Mellouki Cadat participated in the panel discussion on migration and safety.
