Juan Carlos Rodriguez

Juan Carlos Rodriguez' (México) development and training in community work started in 1998, when he joined the volunteer work of the Mexican Network of People living with HIV, in which he developed his knowledge and skills related to institutional strengthening and planning in organisations that respond to the problem of HIV in the region.
Originally being an academic designer in graphic communications, his work contributed to other initiatives such as PULSE, a group of consultants who support the development of workplace policies related to HIV and non-discrimination principles, in conjunction with the National Business Council on AIDS in México.
Juan Carlos Rodriguez now performs consulting work in the northern region, and coordinates programs such as Didesex, AC Diversity, Sports and sexuality, seeking the promotion and defense of human rights for the LGBT community, access to quality services, free of stigma or discrimination, and promoting positive models of coexistence, bringing together nontraditional players in health actions, education and training, with special emphasis on vulnerable populations such as indigenous communities. Juan Carlos Rodriguez participated in the so-called couch session on health issues at the Antwerp conference.
